Students with Additional Needs

Library services and facilities for students with SENs.

RNIB Bookshare

If you have a print disability (one or more physical or learning impairments that affect your ability to enjoy a book to substantially the same degree as a person without the impairment) and you have undergone a needs assessment with Student Advice as a result, you are eligible for an RNIB Bookshare account.

RNIB Bookshare is an online platform of around 800,000 books in accessible electronic formats like Word (books that may not be available in electronic formats anywhere else). Your access to the platform lasts for the duration of your studies at BGU. Eligible print disabilities include cognitive impairments such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, autism, ADHD and Asperger's syndrome.

Click here to apply for an RNIB Bookshare accountIf and when your application is approved the Library team will be in contact with guidance on how to access and use the platform.

NB. The University is permitted to create and supply, to students with print disabilities or impairments, part or the whole of a book in an alternative format. This is permitted only if the University owns a copy of the printed book, and provided an accessible copy is not available from RNIB Bookshare and is not commercially available to buy.  If you think this service would be of use to you, speak to staff in Digital Print Services on the ground floor of the Skinner Building (close to The Snug).
